The Healthy Eating Plate
As part of my studies at the Digital Learning Institute, I partnered with The Vitality Game, a coaching practice led by Wendy Ethard. Wendy helps women find energy and balance in daily life through a personalized approach to food, hormones, and lifestyle. She was curious about the potential of turning her one-on-one method into a digital learning experience. That’s how the idea for the Digital Vitality Game was born. My challenge? Translate her vibrant coaching style into a structured, engaging prototype and build something that could truly support lasting behavior change.

💡My Approach
I followed the ADDIE model to guide the process, beginning with defining the learner. Together with Wendy, I created a detailed learner persona based on her current and ideal clients. This helped us understand their motivations, barriers, and learning preferences, essential for designing something truly relevant.
Next, I clarified the why behind the learning: what challenge were we solving, what knowledge gaps existed, and what outcomes did we want to achieve? With that in mind, I built a modular framework to structure the Digital Vitality Game, a top-down map linking each module to the broader learning goals.
Since our learners are busy and need flexibility, I proposed a self-paced digital format. The tone? Light, approachable, and fun, in line with Wendy’s philosophy. Instead of heavy theory, I suggested to use short videos, interactive activities, and formative assessments to promote reflection and engagement without pressure.
🔧The Build
I used Genially for the scoping phase, a great tool for visually presenting ideas. Graphics were designed in Canva, keeping things on-brand and playful. I then built the prototype, The Healthy Eating Plate, in Articulate Storyline, allowing for custom design and interactions. It kicks off with a knowledge-check quiz to grab attention and ends with self-reflection. Wendy and I worked closely through one feedback round to refine the experience and ensure everything aligned with her coaching style.
✅The Result
This project was a key part of my final assignment for the Digital Learning Institute, and one I’m especially proud of.
It allowed me to apply the full ADDIE model in a real-world context, from learner analysis to prototype delivery.
The result? I graduated with distinction, gaining hands-on experience in instructional design, stakeholder collaboration, and digital learning development. This milestone marks an important step in my journey as a learning designer, and one that continues to shape the way I work today.
